Background Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) is a potent, hallucinogenic substance that distorts the perception, state of consciousness and behaviour user. LSD poisonings are rare in children may be difficult to recognise based on clinical symptoms alone. Case presentation A young boy was admitted hospital because bizarre reduced responsiveness towards his parents. At first, he agitated. Later fell silent became apathetic. He suffered from ataxia showed signs visual hallucinations. conclusive diagnosis poisoning made possible through targeted specific laboratory testing blood urine samples. The patient recovered completely without any treatment. Interpretation We urge doctors who examine paediatric patients with acute unexplained neuropsychiatric or abnormal consider drug intoxication as differential diagnosis. Blood samples such should obtained soon analysed for broad spectrum substances. No antidote exists LSD. If sedation required due convulsions, tachycardia, agitation, frightening hallucinations, treatment benzodiazepine, diazepam midazolam, recommended.
